Doors open 6 pm

Reading starts 7 pm

Featuring Tommy Archuleta, Santa Fe Poet Laureate and Rebecca Aronson, Albuquerque poet.

Reading from new works, followed by conversation.

$12 per person VIP seating, includes pizza, wine, lemonade. Must RSVP.

Back Porch readings include pizza from Placitas Pizza (veggie and gluten free options available), wine and lemonade in an intimate and beautiful setting. Summer solstice time with usually a fabulous sunset viewed from Jules’ Poetry Playhouse Back Porch. Authors will have books for sale and will sign them. (If rain, we can be inside, however porch is covered).

Tommy Archuleta is Santa Fe’s seventh Poet Laureate, appointed in January 2024. Archuleta is a native northern New Mexican. Susto, his full-length debut collection of poems, published by the University Press of Colorado, is a 2023 Mountain/West Poetry Series title. He is also the author of the chapbook Fieldnotes (Lily Poetry Review & Books, 2023). Most recently, his work has appeared in the New England Review, Laurel Review, Lily Poetry Review, The Cortland Review, Guesthouse, and the Poem-a-Day series sponsored by the Academy of American Poets. Born and raised in Santa Fe, he works with the clinical team at The Life Link and lives and writes in Santa Fe. Susto is published by the Center for Literary Publishing/University Press of Colorado. 

Rebecca Aronson is the author of three books of poetry: Anchor, winner of the Eric Hoffer award for poetry and the poetry prize from the Philosophical Society of Texas; Ghost Child of the Atalanta Bloom, winner of the Orison Books poetry prize; and Creature, Creature., winner of the Main-Traveled Roads poetry prize. She has been a recipient of a Yetzirah fellowship, a Prairie Schooner Strousse Award, the Loft’s Speakeasy Poetry Prize, and a Tennessee Williams Scholarship to Sewanee writers conference. She has work appearing recently in The Taos Journal of Poetry, In the Tempered Dark: Contemporary Poets Transcending Elegy, Crosswinds, The Laurel Review, and others. She is host of Bad Mouth, a series of words and music. She lives in Albuquerque with her husband, teenage son, and a very demanding cat.
